Giving by Colorado Foundations Continues to Rise

Foundations plan to give as much or more in 2010

In the most recent Colorado Giving Study (released in February 2010), commissioned by the Colorado Association of Funders (CAF), giving by Colorado foundations continues to rise in the latest reporting period, according to an analysis of Colorado funders conducted by the Denver-based Center for Research Strategies.  VIEW the full report.  VIEW the press release.

Grantmakers See Bright Future For Colorado Philanthropy

The Colorado Giving Study, commissioned by the Colorado Association of Funders (CAF), shows that Colorado-based private foundations, community foundations, corporate funders and federated funds, such as United Way, contributed more than $412 million to charitable causes throughout the state. This is a 51 percent increase in funding compared to the last giving study which reported contributions of $272 million. Click here for the complete report.

Grantmakers See Bright Future For Colorado Philanthropy

The 2005 Colorado Giving Study, commissioned by the Colorado Association of Funders, shows that 290 Colorado-based private foundations, community foundations, corporate funders and federated funds contribute more than $272 million to charitable causes throughout the state. "Organized philanthropy in Colorado is growing, and this is good news for the state's nonprofit organizations," said Gina Ferrari, CAF's managing director. "We're seeing growth both in the amount being given away by current funders, and we're seeing more Coloradans getting involved in philanthropy, especially through their local community foundations." CAF Study of Organized Philanthropy Key Findings!

A first-ever study commissioned by the Colorado Association of Funders (CAF) reveals that Colorado-based private foundations, community foundations and corporate giving programs give an annual total of $253 million to charitable causes throughout the state. The data compiled for the study represent grants from 257 foundations and companies in Colorado. Since 1990, the number of grantmakers in the state has increased 112% and grants have increased two-fold. Click here for complete report
